Identifying an Industry Challenge (Oct 2022)
India’s fast-growing plastic and petrochemical industries have long relied on imported cutter blades for their pelletizing equipment. Despite a robust demand, a gap persisted in the availability of high-quality, domestically manufactured pelletizing blades. Recognizing this challenge, our team at Palletizer India set out to address a critical need: to eliminate the country’s dependence on imports and empower Indian manufacturers with advanced, homegrown solutions.
Gaining Industry Commitment (Nov 2022)
The urgency of this problem resonated deeply within the industry. Leading Indian Petrochemical companies raised this issue at vendor meets and industry forums. Their willingness to adopt innovative, locally developed products provided both motivation and strong partners for our journey.
Researching the Titanium Carbide Opportunity (Nov 2023)
To develop a viable solution, we undertook extensive market research. We consulted with cutting tool industry leaders such as Sandvik and CTC India to map the landscape and validate the challenge. It became clear that NO INDIAN COMPANY WAS WORKING WITH ADVANCED TITANIUM CARBIDE CERAMICS FOR THIS APPLICATION —a domain dominated by imports. This critical insight defined our mission: to pioneer titanium carbide composite products manufacturing in India.
Laying the Foundation for Innovation (Mar 2023)
Our next step was to take the vision to reality. We sourced patented materials from global suppliers, adapting their use to the Indian context. Focused R&D efforts began by reverse-engineering and improving the existing imported cutting blades already in use at major Indian sites. This foundational research set the groundwork for indigenous product development.
Building Strategic Collaborations (Mar 2024)
Creating a truly world-class product required collaboration across India’s most innovative minds and facilities. We evaluated over 40 industrial and academic setups and formed strong partnerships with institutions such as IIT Ropar, IIT Chennai, CTR Ludhiana, and MSME Centre Rohtak. These partnerships provided state-of-the-art technical expertise, advanced machining capabilities, and a platform to accelerate full-scale research and product validation across multiple domains simultaneously.
Achieving a Technology Breakthrough (Jun 2025)
After relentless pursuit and numerous engineering milestones, we achieved a comprehensive technology breakthrough. Our advanced titanium carbide composite cutters feature:
• Precision machining for flawless joint geometry
• Optimized heat treatment for long-lasting durability
• Proprietary toughened fillers and stabilized fixtures for robust performance
• World-class quality assurance protocols

Oct’2022: INTRODUCTION TO PROBLEM STATEMENT

Companies are ready to opt the innovative solution to this problem. We came across various open MOMs and Vendor Meet synopsis like INDIANOIL: Panipat Refinery. These industries drive us towards innovation in this sector
Mar’2023: MARKET RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
Various industry leaders like SANDVIK are approached for its solution and found the basic missing piece in this field i.e. NO COMPANY IN INDIA WORKS ON TITANIUM CARBIDE CEREMICS at that time and need all together new academic research for its development in India.
Nov’2023: SOURCING RAW MATERIALS AND RESEARCH INITIATION
Making an existing product our first step aim to fixate the direction forward; we sourced patented materials from foreign proprietary vendors so to initiate the research activities. IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, BITS PILANI, IIT ROPAR, CTR LUDHIANA & MSME Centre-ROHTAK Were approached with the problem statement.
Mar’2024: Collaboration with IIT ROPAR and MSME CENTRE-ROHTAK
Nearly 46 industrial and academic setups were explored for potential collaboration. Finally, entered in the funded projects with IIT ROPAR for basic technical know-how and MSME CENTRE-ROHTAK for basic machining capabilities. Full scale research on various product aspects started.
Jun’2025: Technology Breakthrough
We finally achieved an all-round solution in terms of superior machining, seamless joint geometry, heat treatment cycles, filler material modifications, fixtures for stable mechanical operations, reliable Testing and Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP). Our current product paves the way for further innovation in this field, as we are the pioneers in developing Titanium Carbide composite materials in India.
